I started this section on slime moulds fungi and lichens as a total novice.
After 12 months and many excellent books I have only been able to identify somewhere over half.
I included all the others hoping that more informed people might help.
I still think it is worth while doing this section as it is an audit of what is growing in 3 small areas of Brisbane.
Nearly 100% of the Fungi were seen over a 12 to 18 month period and over 3 small areas in Brisbane.
Slime moulds were seen in a few places but the rest of the Ascomycetes were on 1 large old decaying log.
The Basidiomycetes were seen in 1 larger area about 0.5 Km long and 0.25 Km wide and 2 smaller areas.
In the 10 years since the mushroom photos were taken almost none have been seen in any of the previous areas.
The above shows that, given a good season you do not have to go outside the city to find fungi.
For anyone who knows mushrooms well and wanted to do an audit of those found in Brisbane this could be a start.
