Fungi > Division Basidiomycota > Class Agaricomycetes > Order Agaricale > Family Crepidotaceae.

Classification is still a work in progress and some species have numerous synonyms.
Their appearance can vary depending on the environmental conditions.
Because of this what were separate species have often been found to be a single species.

All species in Australia grow mainly on leaf litter, mulch or wood.
They are small mushrooms with a cap that is fan-shaped or convex.
It can be white, brown, yellow or grey.
They have no stalk or a short lateral one.
There are no partial veil remnants.

Gills can be free of the stalk, attached to or run down it.
Smooth or rough, round or cylindrical spores can be pale yellow or yellow-brown.
