Clitoria.
The around 61 species are mostly from the tropical Americas with the rest from Africa and Asia.
They are annual or perennial climbers, scramblers with some woody shrubs.
The pinnate leaves have an odd terminal leaflet.
The typical pea-shaped flowers come in blue, pinkish and white.
Flowers differ from those in other genera by being upside down with the large standard being the lowest petal.
One species, Clitoria terneata is widely cultivated.
